Andrea Borroni

Professor in Comparative Commercial Law

Andrea Borroni is professor at the New Vision University. Also he is a tenured Associate Professor of Private Comparative Law at the Luigi Vanvitelli University of Campania, at the Jean Monnet Department of Political Sciences. He has been visiting professor in many Universities in Italy and abroad. He is regular visiting professor at Royal University for Women in Bahrein and he was among the professors at the 2019 Unesco Summer Academy, Istanbul, on the “Women empowerment”.

After graduating in law at the University of Pavia (summa cum laude), he gained an LL.M., with all the honors, in the 2006, at the Louisiana State University in Comparative law and obtained a Doctorate in Comparative law in the 2006 from the University of Trento and, a second degree (summa cum laude) in Banking law and anti-usury regulation.

He was awarded of the Van Calker Scholarship from the Swiss Institute of Comparative Law of Lausanne (2004), of the Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarship in the U.S.A. (2005-2006), of the Paul Hebert LSU Law Center Fellowship (2005-2006) and of the American Society of Comparative Law scholarship for panel presentation at the annual conference of the YCC Conference at the Koc University (Istanbul) (2017).

He is also Professor of Legal, Fiscal, and Financial Environment, within the Master Programme of the Link Campus University, “Blockchain ed Economia delle Criptovalute”, Module Convener in Islamic Corporate Governance within the Master programme of the LUISS, Business & Company Law, Rome, member of the Faculty, Master Trade Finance: “Pagamenti e Strumenti per il Commercio Estero” and a Former member of the Young International Arbitration Group at the London Court of Arbitration. He is referee for the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research for the evaluation of research projects in the field of comparative law and for the evaluation of VQR (Evaluation of Research Quality). He authored and edited many monographic works and scientific publications in comparative law and he is member of scientific and editorial committee of centers of research and law reviews in private comparative law and holds several international academic affiliation (Juris Diversitas, the Société de Législation Comparée and many others). He is also the Country expert for the Pepper IV and V report, the Scientific Director of the master on Islamic Business and Finance International Chamber of Commerce of Paris (Seat of Rome), a Member of AAOIFI expert pool, and Expert for professional assistance in the “Network contract” and for the “Intellectual Property” field for the Chamber of commerce of Milan, Monza-Brianza, and Lodi.

Prof. Andrea Borroni has been practicing law for more than twenty years in Milan, specializing in the field of corporate law, arbitration, and commercial contract law with a peculiar expertise in banking, Fintech, Intellectual property law, food law, and energy law.
