Activities & Objectives
ISRC has created a full 6-month program that includes the Clinical Research Crash Course, comprising theoretical lectures, practical workshops, a focus on recent developments and Al integration, and instructor expertise. Objectives:
-
To raise awareness among students about the crucial role of research in medicine
-
To provide instruction on the practical aspects of conducting clinical research
-
To engage students in hands-on participation in real medical research projects
What we've done

Launch Event 2025
May 4, 2025
The International Students Research Club (ISRC) held its 2025 launch event at the NVU Health Hub!
This student society has made research accessible to all students in Georgia by developing courses that teach every stage of the research process from forming an idea to publishing their first paper.
The launch event was an introduction to the ISRC courses and research itself, with guest speaker _ Dr. Tharaka Dunuwila.
Final Event of the Series 2025
June 26, 2025
ISRC concluded its series with the final event of the curriculum, “All You Need to Know About Research.”
As a bonus, the session featured presentations on cracking USMLE and PLAB/UKMLA, where speakers shared practical tips, preparation strategies, and insights into international medical licensing exams. They also discussed career pathways and opportunities for medical professionals in the United Kingdom and the United States.
Biostatistics Workshop
June 15-20, 2025
Dr Karim Salimov and Dr Nino Tsotskhalashvili showed us how to conduct data analysis in action with their mind-blowing workshops. They proved to students that the numbers can sometimes lie, and showed us how with the tools and strategies you can use to dig beneath the surface of the statistics that make medicine tick in real-life research scenarios.
By the end of the sessions, we not only gained practical skills in data analysis software, but also a deeper appreciation for the role of biostatistics in shaping medical knowledge, clinical decisions, and public health policy.

Observational and Experimental Studies workshop
May 30 - June 1, 2025
The workshops guided students from summarizing existing research to conducting real-world studies. They covered study design and analysis essential for medical decision-making and introduced students to clinical research opportunities in Tbilisi, making hands-on experience more accessible for future doctors.
Case Report Writing Workshop
May 18, 2025
The event began with a Case Report Writing Workshop led by Dr. Tamar Didbaridze, a prominent Clinical Microbiologist and researcher with numerous peer-reviewed publications. She was joined by Dr. Salome Kaldani, a recent graduate active in the European Society of Endocrinology, the Federation of European Nutrition Societies, and the Youth Neuroscience Organisation.
The interactive session guided students through identifying, analysing, and evaluating key elements of case reports. Notably, several participants secured authorship opportunities through exceptional networking during the workshop.
Literature Review and Systematic Review Workshops
May 10-11, 2025
Systematic reviews and literature reviews are papers any medical student can write, even alone, with the right training. These reviews foster critical thinking, evidence-based practice, and a deep understanding of current research trends.
ISRC’s workshops taught students how to evaluate the quality of studies, synthesise data across multiple sources, and draw informed conclusions: crucial skills for both clinical decision-making and academic development.

Journal Club
April 4, 2024
Our first journal club, led by Ahmed Saleh, explored hot topics in OB/GYN, psychiatry, dermatology, cardiology, and neurology. Attendees dove into lively discussions, delving deeply into specific fields and sparking new ideas. With engaging presentations and dynamic discussions, our event proved to be an invaluable platform for collaborative learning and exploration of the latest research trends.

Case Report Workshop
March 23, 2024
Isrc Georgia hosted a Case Report Workshop at New Vision University, led by Mohammed M Ahmed.
Attendees learned about the importance of case reports and how to write them effectively. They eagerly immersed themselves in crafting their own reports in teams, making it an enriching experience for sharing medical insights!

ISRC
The International Students Research Club (ISRC) in Georgia is a student-led initiative designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical skills in clinical research. Recognizing that students often lack hands-on experience despite strong academic programs, ISRC was founded to address this need. Its mission is to equip students with essential clinical research skills, emphasize the significance of research in medicine, and provide real opportunities to engage in active research projects.
