What we've done
Pathways to Success 2025 _ Your Guide to Medical School and Beyond
"Pathways to Success" consists of several programs, including a career development initiative by the Georgian International Medical Student Society (GIMSOC) that helps medical students build a successful career through a structured program lasting a few weeks.
This multi-part series brought together over 100 attendees to explore essential skills for medical students.
Week 1 focused on navigating medical school, mental health, academic growth, and networking with 11 student societies through panels and interactive booths.
Week 3 shifted focus to research and publication, featuring talks by Dr. Khatuna Dondoladze and other accomplished contributors who shared practical insights into conducting and publishing medical research.
The sessions offered both inspiration and actionable guidance, bridging personal well-being with academic excellence.

Precision in Motion: Sports Medicine

Bringing together over 50 participants for a dynamic, hands-on workshop, Led by Dr. Davit Gelashvili.
The event covered essential reduction bandaging and splinting techniques through lectures, demonstrations, and guided practice. Attendees also took part in an engaging case-based activity that tested their skills in real-time scenarios. The session concluded with a call for blood donors.
Womenโs Health Awareness Event
May 17, 2025
Fundraising Team in collaboration with Tbilisi Volunteers, promoted education on womenโs health while raising 315 GEL for menstrual products. The event included a short film screening, and interactive activities like bracelet making, trivia, flower painting, and musical chairs. With food stalls and a lively atmosphere, it was both educational and community-driven. All proceeds went to Tbilisi Volunteers to support local causes.
Hemosphere_ From Reports to Results

An offline workshop focused on enhancing clinical skills related to blood analysis and diagnosis. Prof. Nina Lolashvili, Deputy Director at the Institute of Hematology & Transfusiology, and Dr. Nino Otarishvili, guided students through essential blood report interpretation and real-world clinical insights. The workshop involved decoding blood reports (CBC, LFT, RFT), analyzing real-time clinical cases, and concluding with a blood donation drive.
CAKES AND CONSULTATION
March 29, 2024
The event aimed at enhancing the OSCE (objective structured clinical examination) skills of medical students in Family Medicine.
Under the guidance of Dr. Nino Gelashvili, participants engaged in a structured exercise where they took turns gathering patient histories and working through laboratory values. Afterwards, the groups discussed possible diagnosis.

ENCEPHALON
Encephalon was a collaborative event with EduGradient, held at NVU. A hands-on dissection workshop focused on the brain, specifically the corpus callosum. Participants delved into the complexities of corpus callosotomy and gained a comprehensive understanding of the brain's ventricles and various parts.
Neuro-radiology team quiz fostered a spirit of friendly competition and deepened participants' understanding of brain imaging. Added to the interactive nature of the event, an Electroencephalography (EEG) workshop session was led by the EduMentors and participants were guided through the intricacies of reading EEG reports, with ample worksheets provided for further study and practice.
MediConnect & MEDICINEFLIX
On September 14, 2023, MediConnect: Uniting Medical, was held at the NVU Health Hub.
The event aimed to bring students from different universities and backgrounds together to connect, share ideas, and build friendships. A total of 55 students from various universities across Georgia joined, making it a lively and interactive gathering.
The fun continued the following week with Medicineflix, where students came together to watch "Contagion". The friendly atmosphere made it easy for everyone to bond and have a good time.
We hope these events left everyone with happy memories and stronger connections in our medical community.
GIMSOC MIXER
The GIMSOC Mixer was a lively networking event held at New Vision University during the Fall 2023-24 semester. Organized by the Ken Walker International University GIMSOC team, the event aimed to foster connections and collaboration among the GIMSOC executives.
With over 55 attendees, the mixer featured engaging activities such as art therapy sessions, which provided a creative outlet for participants to relax and explore their personalities through art. The event also included fun games like art charades and a human scavenger hunt, encouraging teamwork and friendly competition among the executives.

Georgian International Medical Student Society is a non-profit medical student organization, founded in 2023. We are dedicated to making a positive impact in Georgia through connecting and engaging with inspiring medical students from around Georgia, equipping and empowering them for future practice.
Our mission is to unite medical students in a shared community for excellence, innovation, and compassionate care. Through collaboration, education, and advocacy, we encourage them to interact and work on projects and activities.
