DANDY DAY 2024:


Inaugural Event
A celebration of neurosurgical education and innovation 
On September 22, the Walter E. Dandy Neurosurgical Club at New Vision University hosted a workshop titled "Dandy Day."

Dandy Day aimed to foster an engaging learning environment for medical students and professionals interested in neurosurgery and neurology. Our goal was to provide valuable insights into current practices, promote hands-on learning, and encourage discussions around the latest advancements in the field. 

The panel discussion featured Neurosurgeons and Psychiatrists: Lika Khorbadadze, Madona Akhobadze, Madona Sekhiashvili, Magda Gerantia.

The event featured a diverse range of topics
Lumbar Puncture and CSF Analysis: A hands-on workshop where participants learned the techniques and significance of lumbar puncture in diagnosing neurological conditions.

Neuroradiology: An in-depth exploration of imaging techniques and their applications in neurosurgery.

Neuronerds Brain Anatomy: A detailed session focusing on brain anatomy and its clinical relevance.

Neurosurgery (Follow-up): Discussion on the importance of postoperative care and follow-up procedures.

The Brain Bee Competition


The Brain Bee Competition showcased the knowledge and skills of aspiring neurosurgeons, with winners receiving certificates for their outstanding performances.

Dandy

Dr. Walter E. Dandy (1886–1946) was a pioneering American neurosurgeon who significantly shaped the field of neurosurgery. His groundbreaking work in brain surgery, cerebrovascular diseases, and neuroanatomy paved the way for modern neurosurgical techniques. 

The Walter E. Dandy Neurosurgical Society was established to honor his legacy and continue his vision of advancing neurosurgical education and collaboration. The organization fosters the exchange of knowledge among neurosurgeons worldwide, ensuring that Dandy’s spirit of innovation and dedication to patient care endures in the field.
