Tinatin Erkvania
Associate Professor in Public Law

Tinatin Erkvania graduated from Tbilisi University. Bachelor's degree (2002-2006) and Master's degree (2007-2009) from the Law Faculty of Javakhishvili State University. She studied at the law faculties of the University of Hamburg (2007) and the Humboldt University of Berlin where she completed her master's degree (LL.M - 2008-2010) and defended a dissertation in the field of public law (Ph.D. in Law, 2011-2016)

 

Tinatin Erkvania has extensive professional experience. She has worked in a variety of organizations, including the Ministry of Education and Science's Law-making Department, the Center for Regional Development of Constitutionalism, the legal company - Hengeler Mueller (Berlin office), where she was a research assistant in constitutional law, and public commercial law.

 

Apart from that, she was a representative of the Parliament of Georgia in the Constitutional Court of Georgia (2017-2018), and a Visiting Researcher at the Heidelberg Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law (2019).

 

Since 2017, Tinatin Erkvania has been giving lectures at various Georgian universities, including GIPA (associate professor in the field of public law, 2017-2022), and TSU, University of Georgia. She was also a guest lecturer at Masaryk University (Czech Republic) and a visiting researcher at the Faculty of Law, Humboldt University of Berlin. In 2020-2022, Dr. Erkvania was the head of the Center for the Study of Law and Society in a Global Context

 

Since 2021, Tinatin Erkvania has been the founder and head of two organizations: The Constitutional Governance Center – Georgia and the legal company Erkvania and Partners.
