Tamar Laliashvili
Professor in Criminal Law
Tamar Laliashvili graduated from the faculty of law of the Tbilisi State University in 1988. She was an intern of the prosecutor's office and the city court of the city of Bremen, Germany. Also, she was a beneficiary of Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Academic Foundation. Tamar Laliashvili successfully completed her 3-year doctorate studies in 2010. She is the founder of the Georgian-Norwegian Rule of Law Association. In 2002-2003, she was a member of the state commission working on the reforms of the criminal law. She was also a member of the commission working on the draft code of the criminal procedure. In 2011-2013, she was an expert of the Development Research Institute of Georgia. She is also an epxert of the Civic Idea since 2019. Tamar Laliashvili is a professor of the school of Law of the New Vision University since 2019.

Concerning her work experience, Tamar Laliashvili has worked as a prosecutor, consultant and a judge in a court of law throughout her career. In 1990-1992, she worked as a consultant for the Ministry of Justice of Georgia. From 1992 to 1999, she worked as a prosecutor at the Prosecutor's Office of Georgia. She also worked as a judge in one of the regional courts of Georgia in 1999-2000. Shortly thereafter, she worked as a judge in the court of appeals from 2000 to 2001, that was followed be her 5-year tenure as a judge of the Supreme Court of Georgia in 2001-2006.
