
Professor in Neurotoxicology
Tamar Bikashvili received a PhD degree in Biology from I. Beritashvili Institute of Physiology (2002). She started her scientific career at the Central Research Laboratory of Tbilisi State Medical University. After completing post-graduate Courses at the l. Beritashvili Institute of Physiology, she started working in the same institute as a junior scientist (1994-2002). Then she was a research associate, a senior scientist, and currently holds the position of head of the neurotoxicology laboratory at the I. Beritashvili Center of Experimental Biomedicine.
Tamar Bikashvili has authored over 50 scientific publications and has served as the Principal Investigator and key personnel on multiple scientific grant projects. Additionally, she has co-organized various international scientific workshops and symposiums, and has actively participated in numerous international scientific conferences.
She employs a variety of morphological techniques in her research, including light, electron, and atomic force microscopy. T. Bikashvili serves as a reviewer for Springer Publisher Journals and is a member of several international scientific organizations, including the European Federation of Neuroscientists (FENS), International Brain Organization (IBRO), and the American Society of Scientists Sigma-Xi.
