Shahzea completed her Master’s Degree in Policy Studies in the UK and her postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the College of Law in London, after having graduated with an LLB (Hons) Degree from Brunel University (London). After that, she trained with one of the top UK law firms and was admitted by the Law Society in London as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court in 2000. She worked in both criminal and family law, she went onto specialise in International divorce and family matters, gaining recognition for her knowledge and experience as a specialist family lawyer by obtaining accreditation with the Law Society's Advanced Family Law Panel from 2011-2016.
She is a Member of Resolution (UK) and has been giving pro bono legal advice at the charity "Rights of Women" (London) since 2007. Since 2015, she has been assisting with the deliverance of the ‘Communication and Medical Ethics’ postgraduate examinations for an internationally recognised medical exam. In 2018 she was appointed by the Royal College of Physicians (UK) as a lay representative in the GIM General Internal Medicine Specialist Advisory Committee (GIM SAC), and in the Specialty Certificate Examination (SCE) Steering Group. She is regularly invited to sit on the panel to hear misconduct hearings at the Royal College of Physicians. Her interest in utilising her skills in education and teaching has seen her recently appointed as a School Governor in May 2019.
