Rupinder Grewal

Associate Professor in Orthopedic Surgery

Rupinder Grewal is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals with over 20 years of experience in General Orthopaedics, Upper limb and Hand Surgery. She has been an honorary lecturer at The University College of London and responsible for the Orthopaedic programme of medical students at Basildon Hospital for over 16 years. She is a trainer for junior doctors and an MBBS examiner.

Rupinder Grewal completed her Orthopaedic training on the Royal London Hospital rotation. She holds a fellowship of The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and of England. Also, she holds a Fellowship in Trauma and Orthopaedics from the Royal College of Surgeons of England. She has completed a fellowship from University of Pittsburgh in biomechanical research and upper limb surgery and one from University of Louisville in hand and microsurgery. She has published numerous papers in peer reviewed journals and written book chapters.

Ms Grewal has been the clinical governance and clinical audit lead for the surgical division and Orthopaedics at Basildon and continues as the governance lead for The Nuffield hospital. She is the lead appraiser for the surgical division. She is also a human factors trainer.
