Dr. Rajeev Skandakumar Vaikunthanathan has over 18 years’ experience as a GP. He is currently the lead GP at Ash Grove Surgery in Llanelli, South Wales. He is an accredited GP trainer and Foundation Year 2 supervisor.

Dr Vaikunthanathan retired from the Royal Air Force in 2015 in the rank of Wing Commander after completing a 16-year commission. Since his retirement he has worked as a GP partner at Bourne End and Wooburn Green Medical Centre and as a salaried GP at Bedgrove Surgery in Aylesbury.

He has gained experience and expertise in the management of Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes by working as an associate specialist in diabetes at the diabetic clinic at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. In addition, Dr Rajeev Vaikunthanathan is also extensively trained in aviation medicine and is a UK CAA approved Aero-Medical Examiner (AME).
