Nina Chanishvili gained a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (1987). She was a Senior Scientist at the Laboratory of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering (1986-92) and served as an Assistant Professor in the Molecular Biology Department of the University of Geneva, Switzerland (1992-93). Ms. Chanishvili was an Invited Researcher at the Biology Department of the University of Oulu, Finland (1995-96). In 2014, Ms. Chanishvili was employed by University of Brighton, England. Since 2012, she is the Head of Research and Development Department at the Eliava Institute of Bacteriophages, Microbiology and Virology. Also, she worked as an expert for the Soros international scientific-educational program “Intentional Soros Science Education Program- ISSEP” (1994-2005). As of 2015, Nina is a member of editorial board of journal Frontiers in Microbiology and participant of many local and international conferences.
