Nika Sergia has a bachelor's degree in law and master's degree in economics from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, and a master's degree in law from New Vision University. At various times he studied law at the Universities of Hamburg (Germany) and Friedrich Schiller (Germany), was a fellow of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Copernicus Association. He headed the Cartel Contract Identification and Prevention Division of the Georgian Competition Agency, was chairman of the Georgia Public Procurement Dispute Resolution Council.

Nika Sergia is currently the head of the Anti-Dumping Measures Department of the Georgian Competition Agency.
