Mariam Baramidze was awarded the degree of Candidate of Philological Sciences in 1998. In 1981-92 she was the editor of the Main Editorial Board of Artistic Translation and Literary Relations with the Writers' Union of Georgia. In 1998-2006 she was the coordinator of the joint project of the Chavchavadze State University of Languages and Culture and the Münster University of Westphalia, Germany, "Didactics of Higher Education and Curriculum Reform". In 2015-2018 she was the Chairman of the German Language Appeals Commission for the Unified National Exams of Georgia. Since 1992 she has been engaged in scientific and pedagogical work in higher education institutions. She is the author of numerous scientific papers and artistic translations as well as a participant of local and international conferences and a fellow of various international foundations.
