Lita Surmava graduated from the Ivane Javakhisvhili Tbilisi State University, Faculty of International Law and International Relations, majoring in International Law, with honors (2002). In 2013, she was awarded a Ph.D. degree in Law at the Tbilisi State University, and LLM in the EU law (2005) at the Stockholm University (Sweden). Her research fields include EU institutional law, competition law, the legal approximation.Ms. Surmava is honored with various international scholarships, amongst them Swedish Institute, University of Lodz, Fund for Development and Reforms, under the President of Georgia, etc. She was the Head of International Relations Division at the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia.
