Doctor Ketevan Chagunava, cardiologist, MD, PhD., has 32 years of work experience in both ambulatory and non-invasive cardiology. She also has 20 years of teaching experience.
K.Chagunava was trained as a medical doctor at the Tbilisi State Medical University. She completed her post-graduation studies specializing in cardiology and radiology and has since worked at a number of leading hospitals in Tbilisi. In 2003-2005, K.Chagunava conducted Ph.D. research in the field of hypertension at the National Center of Therapy.
Currently, she is the leading cardiologist of the cardiology department and the head of the department of functional methods of diagnostics at New Hospitals LLC. She is the coordinator and local head of the residency program in cardiology at Tbilisi State Medical University.
From 2012-2018 she was the co-author and senior researcher of the 2 state-funded winning projects in the fundamental research category of the Sh. Rustaveli National Science Foundation. In 2015-2020, K.Chagunava was PI in a Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled, Parallel-Group Study (MK-8835/PF-04971729) (Protocol - MK-8835-004/B1521021).
Doctor Ketevan Chagunava has published more than 50 articles in peer-reviewed journals and held over 25 presentations at numerous international conferences
She is a member of various Georgian and European Societies and Associations – a member of the Georgian and European Society of Cardiology, European Association of Preventive Cardiology, Councils of Hypertension, Stroke, and Cardio-oncology.
