Karaman Pagava

Professor in Medicine and Life Sciences

Karaman Paghava is a Doctor of Medicine, Professor, with 50 years of pedagogical experience. His scientific interests include pediatric and adolescent medicine and physiology. He has been granted medical licenses in pediatrics, neonatology, pediatric rheumatology and pediatric gastroenterology.


He has more than 600 publications, including 3 textbooks and 6 monographs. He has supervised 25 dissertations. In order to popularize science, he regularly lectures and publishes articles in the mass media on the development and health of children and adolescents. He has delivered lectures at universities in St. Petersburg, Innsbruck, Bonn, Berlin, Saarbrücken, and Oxford. He also co-developed the European Training Program in Adolescent Medicine. He has participated in more than 50 international conferences as an organizer, section chair or speaker. 

 

He has received the Best Teacher of the Year Award of Tbilisi State Medical University, the Annual Award of the European Association for Pediatric Education for the Best Report. He has been awarded the Order of Honor, the Ilia Chavchavadze Medal and the prize of the Society "Knowledge".
