
Associate Professor in Politics and International Relations
Irakli Laitadze graduated from Tbilisi State University (Economic Geography), the Diplomatic School of Madrid (MA), and the University of Cambridge (MBA). He holds a Doctorate in Humanities (Magna cum laude) from the Free University of Tbilisi.
He has many years of professional experience in senior positions within the diplomatic service and the corporate sector. He worked in Brussels at the Mission of Georgia to the European Union, as well as at the Embassy of Georgia to Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, he served as Director of the Political Department for EU and Bilateral European Relations.
He later continued his career as Chief Financial Officer of GMT Hospitality (GMT Group) and also served as Director of Artanuji Publishing House.
Irakli is the author of three books: the fiction work Stories Scratched on the Wall, and two works of documentary prose, Illusions of Modernity and There Once Was Such a Country โ The USSR: A Walk Through the Recent Past. The latter was a finalist for the 2025 SABA Literary Award.
