Hasan Imam Syed Tahir is a Consultant Physician in Rheumatology and Medicine at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. He is a Principal Investigator for a large number of clinical trials investigating new biological treatments for autoimmune rheumatic disorders including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. He has extensively published in peer review journals. He recently was awarded 2 NIHR wards, the most prestigious being the NIHR at 10 awarded to only 5 researchers nationally.

He was also awarded the BSR Best Practice award for Best emerging practice for his Early Inflammatory Back Pain Service. He is an Honorary Reader in Investigational Clinical Rheumatology at the William Harvey Research Institute, University of London and Hon. Professor of Clinical Sciences at St Matthews University. His other academic interest includes Sports Medicine. He is actively involved both in undergraduate and postgraduate medical training, education and clinical research. He has hosted three times a year a triple cycle MRCP PACES exam and examines and chairs internationally. He has developed a freely available app for SpA patients.
