George Chichua was awarded a Ph.D. Degree in Ophthalmology from the Tbilisi State Medical University (2003). In 2010, he completed training courses at Graz University Eye Clinic (Austria) and at the Central Clinic of Dortmund. Throughout 2000-2001, Mr. Chichua passed Doctorate at University Eye Clinic of Münster (Germany). In the years 1997-1999, he was a fellow with DAAD-scholarship at the Eye Diseases Clinic of University Hospital Tubingen (Germany). Since 2011 he is a Deputy Director of Chichua Eye Clinic. During 2001-2011, Mr. Chichua managed the Ophthalmology Clinic "Mzera". Since 2004, he is the expert-ophthalmologist at the Ministry of Health, Labour and Social Affairs of Georgia. He is a member of several national and international scientific communities, including a member of the board of the Georgian Association of Ophthalmologist, a member of the board of the Georgian Association for the Study of Obesity and a member of the European Vitreoretinal Society.
