George A. Said-Zammit was born in 1969 in Malta. He studied Archaeology at the University of Malta, and then pursued his post-graduate studies at the University of Durham and at lastly at the University of Leiden (The Netherlands).
He holds a PhD in archaeology, where he specialized in the development of domestic space in Malta and the Mediterranean from the late Middle Ages to the second half of the twentieth century. His areas of expertise also include space syntax, vernacular architecture and archaeology, the anthropology of the house, Phoenician and Punic archaeology, and mortuary archaeology in the Punic world.
He is the author of various academic publications appeared either as monographic studies or in learning journals. He also attended various conferences in different countries. George A. Said-Zammit is also a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London and a Fellow of the Royal Anthropological Institute.
