The aim of the project was to raise awareness among secondary school students and local school community about the sustainable development goals and to support the projects necessary to achieve the goals. The project was carried out in partnership with ProCredit Bank and the UN Global Compact Network Georgia.
The goals of the project are:
• Raising the awareness of the participants about the UN sustainable development goals and the importance of environmental sustainability.
• Create a platform for schools to develop and implement sustainable development projects that benefit their school community.
• To encourage cooperation between schools, parents, teachers, administration representatives and local government representatives in order to implement sustainable development projects.
The project is supporting attainment of SDG 17 – Partnership for the Goals. New Vision University firmly believes that the positive change in the world and attainment of UN sustainable development goals is possible only through the partnerships. The project, on the one hand, established close partnerships among the implementers of the project, to unify effort in promoting Sustainable Development in schools, and on the other hand, formed strong partnerships with the schools participating in the project, and among the school community. Namely, the underlying principle of the project is the importance of the partnership and the necessity of establishment of the groups within the schools, composed of different stakeholders, including municipality representatives. Therefore, the project supports establishing long-lasting partnerships for the goals and attainment of the UN sustainable development goals.
