Bachelor's Program in Political Science
The Bachelorโs Program in Political Science provides a comprehensive and dynamic study of political life, with particular attention to shifting political landscapes, evolving ideologies, the changing nature of governance with an emphasis on the current developments in the political science as well as in the world of politics. The program examines political theories, ideas but also public administration, political systems, and public policy while emphasizing how these elements interact in periods of stability, transformation, and crisis.
Students engage critically with the development and contestation of political ideas, the role of political parties and representation, and the functioning of electoral systems in both established and emerging democracies. Special focus is placed on contemporary challenges to democracy, including institutional erosion, populism, polarization, and questions of legitimacy and participation. Through this lens, students explore how political systems adapt, resist change, or undergo transformation.
The curriculum fosters strong analytical and critical thinking, as well as debating and negotiating skills, enabling students to assess the possibilities for political change as well as the conditions under which systems and values are preserved. Graduates are prepared to navigate and contribute to complex political environments, pursuing careers in public service, research institutions, non-governmental organizations, political analysis, and international organizations.
