World Rare Disease Day
More than 300 million people worldwide have a variety of rare diseases. This is more than 6% of the world's population. To date, more than 6,000 different rare diseases have been described and their numbers are increasing from year to year. 70% of these diseases are manifested in childhood.
The last day of February is World Rare Diseases Day, which aims to raise public awareness. On this day, the scientific, medical and non-medical communities come together to solve the problems associated with rare diseases.
On February 28, the University joins the celebration of the World Day of Rare Diseases. Online meetings will be held with physicians, students, patients and their families. At the University Quality of Life Improvement Center, patients with rare diseases will receive free consultations and medical examinations.
