Unified database of persons with rare diseases

Based on online meetings dedicated to World Rare Disease Day, recommendations were formed and a new project was announced, The data of persons with rare diseases living in Georgia provides for the creation of a unified database. Having a base will help patients and their families receiving timely medical and social services. Project will be implemented on the basis of the University Rare Disease Research Center coordinated by Irakli Sulkhanishvili ([email protected]).

The research center, together with the Georgian Association of Rare Diseases, will assist and facilitate international scientific and clinical research. This involvement in surveys will be available in a registered database for individuals and their supporting medical staff, which in turn will allow patients to be treated with the latest methods.
