SUMMER SCHOOL OF LEGAL ETHICS

New Vision University Legal Ethics Chair with support of the USAID Rule of Law Program organized Legal Ethics Summer School for the students from regional universities.

20 LLB and LLM students from various regions of Georgia participated in it.

Below, you can read testimonials provided by several participants:
Ia Gorgadze,3rd year student of the faculty of Law and Social Sciences of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University:
“For me, as a future lawyer, legal ethics is the main value and the starting point through which I should carry out each stage of my professional activity. In order to achieve this goal, the summer school in legal ethics played a key role, since it was through this school that I was able to study legal ethics extensively, clearly analyze how important professional ethics are for a lawyer. This school gave me something without which the life of a lawyer is unthinkable - the ability to systematically analyze ethical obligations.”
Nino Kontselidze,3rd year student of the faculty of Law and Social Sciences of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University:
"The Legal Ethics Summer School gave us the opportunity to meet practicing lawyers and members of the Georgian Bar Association Ethics Commission, who shared their valuable experience with us. During one week we had lectures on different topics: On lawyers’ ethics, on the role of mediator and attorney, movie screenings/discussions and various practical exercises. Each meeting featured a variety of activities. I would advise students to take advantage of such opportunities to enhance their theoretical knowledge and develop practical skills."

Uta Gogidze, student of the Law Master's Program of the faculty of Social Sciences, Business and Law of Gori State University:

“Each session/activity at the Legal Ethics Summer School organized by the USAID Rule of Law Program and New Vision University was conducted by a team of highly qualified trainers. Daily contact with them gave us the opportunity to learn about important legal issues in practice and theory. What was especially memorable for me was the lawyer's freedom of action as a human rights defender from an ethical and legal point of view. The knowledge gained in the mentioned project is a tool, using which we can better define the rules of activity corresponding to professional ethics."
