SCHOOL OF CINEMATIC ARTS AND FILM PRODUCTION STUDIO
On October 12, USAID Office of Economic Growth Director, Michelle Koscielski joined Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Irakli Nadareishvili, Deputy Minister of Education and Science Nodar Papukashvili and Rector of New Vision University Giorgi Barkalaya to officially launch a new partnership to establish the School of Cinematic Arts and Film Production Studio.
With support from USAID, New Vision University and its partner – David Lynch Graduate School of Cinematic Arts at Maharishi International University (MIU), based in Fairfield, Iowa – will address the skills gap in and increased market demand for film industry professionals. This partnership will develop industry-standard skills development programs in the following areas of study: Camera Operation, Video Editing, Lighting Design, and Film Production Management. The programs will be created jointly by New Vision University and MIU, with internationally recognized certifications awarded for each program. The graduates will be awarded a David Lynch Graduate School of Cinematic Arts certificate in addition to a professional diploma or training/vocational education certificate.
