ROUND TABLE ON PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION
On February 28th, the Legal Aid Center organized a student round table on New Regulations on Personal Data Protection.
Interns of the center presented the new Law on Personal Data Protection, coming into force on March 1, 2024.
Natia Megrelishvili discussed the purpose and scope of the Law on Personal Data Protection, and reviewed the important terms used in the new law;
Salome Gogoladze and Ana Chitinashvili presented the principles and basics of data processing;
Mariam Sharvashidze and Mariam Trapaidze discussed data subject rights, data processor obligations, and international data transfer;
Artur Chobaniani and Giorgi Jikhaya presented the activities of the Personal Data Protection Service and its role in the field of control of conducting secret investigative activities, as well as administrative responsibility for violating the law.
The event was attended by law professors and practicing lawyers.
