NEW PROJECT BY NVU – “SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT FOR SCHOOLS"
On June 1, Children's Day, New Vision University launched a new project – "Sustainable Development for Schools".
The initiative aims to raise awareness among students about the goals of sustainable development and provide assistance for the projects required to accomplish these goals. The project is carried out in partnership with ProCredit Bank and UN Global Compact Network Georgia.
Georgian Junkers Tbilisi N52 Public School and Tbilisi German International School are participating in the pilot project. Working groups have been established In both schools, comprising students, parents, teachers, as well as representatives from the school administration and municipality. Groups will assess the needs of schools in terms of sustainable development, then present their own ideas and subsequently, the three organizations will provide assistance in transforming these ideas into tangible projects.
The first activity of the project was hosted by ProCredit Bank. During the meeting, the implementing organizations delivered presentations on best practices of sustainability and environmental protection. Within the framework of the Eco Tour, ProCredit Bank introduced the visitors to examples of renewable energy use, efficient waste management and responsible consumption.
