Black Sea Summer University 2026
On July 13-19, the Institute for Policy Research and European Studies (IPRES, New Vision University), in cooperation with the Centre International de Formation Europรฉenne (CIFE, France), organized the Black Sea Summer University 2026 on the topic - Security Challenges in the Black Sea Region.
The joint program brought together over 30 young political science students and international relations researchers from Georgia and different countries worldwide. During the one-week program, participants met Georgian and international experts to discuss the challenges that Black Sea region countries face amid the significant geopolitical shifts in the region.
The sessions focused on key security challenges in the Black Sea region, including:
- Perspectives of Black Sea littoral states;
- EU and NATO policies in the region;
- Georgia's Black Sea strategy;
- Energy security and sustainability challenges.
The BSSU 2026 program included distinguished lecturers from different countries: Prof. Benedikt Harzl, University of Graz (Austria); Prof. Dr. รiฤdem รstรผn, Niลantaลฤฑ University Istanbul (Turkey); H.E. Razvan Rotundu, Ambassador of Romania to Georgia; Prof. Gvantsa Davitashvili, Professor in International Relations, New Vision University; Prof. Madeleine Hubin, HEC Liรจge (Belgium); Megi Benia, Contributing Editor of New Eastern Europe; Kakha Gogolashvili, Senior Fellow, Director of EU Studies Center, Rondeli Foundation, and Ariz Huseynov, Baku University (Azerbaijan).
