Consumer moot

On December 26, 2020, the Consumer Law Court and Mock Mediation Processes were completed. Teams of an authorized university in Georgia participated in the project. In the first stage of this project, the teams drew legal conclusions on the problem of the competition on the topic of consumer law. In order to draw a legal conclusion, the participating teams under the leadership of Sophio Chachava were trained in writing a legal conclusion.

The next stage of the project was mock trials, where the participating teams had to adapt the roles of the plaintiff and the defendant to the problem of the same competition on which the legal conclusions were drawn. To this end, they drafted procedural documents based on the legal conclusions drawn by them and presented the positions of the relevant party in the mock trials. The judges of the project on mock trials were practicing lawyers and acting judges, who shared feedback with the participating teams after the mock trial was completed.

In the next phase of the project, simulated mediation processes were conducted, where teams on the same competition problem prepared for the mediation process. In particular, they adapted the roles of mediator and parties and tried to find ways to settle the dispute amicably. The referees of the mock mediation process were practicing mediators and individuals with experience in participating in various international meds who shared feedback with the teams after the mediation process was completed.

After the completion of the project, the winning teams in different nominations were identified for each stage of the project.
