On March 19, the University Professor Sophio Chachava was elected as the Chairperson of the Legal Aid Council established under the Law of Georgia on Legal Aid. The Council ensures the management of the Legal Aid Service, its effective performance as well as an independence and transparency of the service. Sophie Chachava is an elected member of the council under the quote of the Public Defender (Ombudsman) of Georgia.
