Workshop sessions, exercises and examples will focus on identifying and addressing the following needs and skills: effective listening, exploring the reasons for difference and conflict, identifying needs and interests, building trust, managing difficult conversations, giving and receiving feedback, managing emotions, appreciative leadership, systems and processes for conflict, prevention and management.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to: use verbal and non-verbal skills to understand underlying problems/issues and apply techniques to connect with others effectively, build trust by adopting behaviors which boost credibility, reliability and confidence, present ideas, suggestions or opinions using effective and constructive language, so they are able to 'disagree without being disagreeable', use solution-focused questions and approaches to solve problems collaboratively, understand and appreciate various processes and interventions that may be implemented within an organization for prevention and effective management of disputes.
